On September 11 our nation will pause to remember the greatest "wake-up" call in our generation, the terrorist attacks on 9/11/01. As part of the Awakening America Alliance, a call is being issued for Christians across the nation to mark this significant day in our history with powerful prayer for America and the lost individuals of this country. In every one of the 3141 counties in the United States, on September 11, Christians will unite to cry out to God with focused prayer for their community, their lost friends and family, and for the spiritual condition of our nation.

America is in a Spiritual Crisis - - Your Participation Can Make a Difference!

62% of Christian children walk away from the faith!
61% of those that walked away regularly attended Sunday school!

The statistics are staggering! They are based on Barna research and research that Ken Ham and Britt Beemer did for their book "Already Gone: Why your kids will quit church and what you can do to stop it" (www.answersingenesis.org/events/state-of-the-nation).

The first commandment is for families to be fruitful and multiply (Genesis 1:28), and the greatest commandment, quoted by Jesus, is to love the Lord our God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength, and how, by keeping God's commandments upon our hearts and impressing them upon our children! (Deuteronomy 6:5-7, Matthew 22:36-40)

Without a doubt, America is in a Spiritual Crisis! And based on the statistics above, we have been falling short of our duties. Therefore, the Church in America is in great need of repentance and awakening! We must once again declare our complete dependence on Jesus Christ and humbly submit to our duty as disciples and disciple makers, particularly in our homes.

On one level the events of 9-11 awakened us to the threat of radical Islamic fundamentalism, but the greater threat confronting us is our departure from God. Therefore on this day may we fully awaken and return to the Lord. Over 2600 years ago, God prescribed in Joel 1:14 how we are to return, we are to "Consecrate a fast; call a solemn assembly. Gather the elders and all the inhabitants of the land to the house of the Lord your God, and cry out to the Lord." In obedience to the Lord, we have gathered here on this occasion to do exactly that.

Cry Out America is for the Entire Body of Christ

Every great spiritual awakening in America's history has started with united, extraordinary prayer. 9-11 will be a day of united, extraordinary prayer and Christians from every denomination are invited to participate. Our focus should be on Christ and on the tragic need of a new generation of Americans to know Him.

Cry Out America is one initiative of a united effort called the Awakening America Alliance. Presently, the Alliance consists of over 200 denominations and parachurch ministries that have joined together to bring an awareness of our deep spiritual need and unite together to pursue a new Christ awakening in the nation. Several other initiatives have and will take place in pursuing these goals.

While you pray on 9-11 you will be joining thousands of others across the nation in all 50 states as we "seek His face" together.
